If we could hand one product to every household in Bed-Stuy, it's this. Mosquito Dunks are compressed rings of Bti — a naturally occurring soil bacterium that is lethal to mosquito larvae and essentially harmless to people, pets, birds, fish, bees, and plants. Drop one in the rain barrel, the plant-pot reservoir, the clogged gutter you keep meaning to fix, the birdbath, the koi-less pond — any standing water you can't dump weekly — and it keeps killing larvae for 30 days. EPA-registered, organic-garden approved, absurdly cheap per treated site. This is the highest damage-per-dollar item in the game.
